It has been probably a year since I have been to a movie. Just the other day my husband said he wanted to go see a movie. I said ok lets go. Now anytime we go see a movie we ultimately choose the one he wants to see. He wanted to go see “The Hangover” and I really wanted to see “The Time Traveler’s Wife”. Well for arguments sake we went to see “The Hangover”. At first I thought this was going to be the dumbest movie ever; a bunch of guys after a night of drunkenness, who cares?
This movie had us out loud laughing during the whole movie. Who ever wrote the script for this movie did a really good job with the humor. The character’s chosen I think helped with the humor as well. The group of friends in this movie were an odd match. They had a dorky dentist, a rebellious teacher, one with no job and very odd, and then the last guy was the one with his head on his shoulders.
Four friends travel to Vegas for a bachelor party and end up getting so wasted they do not even remember the night before. Once they wake up they realize they have lost the groom. As they are trying to figure out where their friend is they find out all the crazy stuff they did the night before.
The odd guy through out most of the movie always seemed to end up with no pants on. One scene that was really funny is when they have valet get their car. The valet pulls up with a cop car and says “here is your car officers”. The rebellious teacher looks at the other two and says “stay cool, don’t say a word and just get in the car”. That was just the beginning of what their night was all about. Another funny scene was when they hear someone banging on the trunk and they think it is their friend and they rush to open it and a naked Chinese man jumps out. My husband described it as a monkey jumping on someone. He just jumped out on to one of the guy’s heads and just hits him.
Well with out giving away too much of the movie I think I will end the blog here. This movie is definitely worth the money to go see or rent. They say laughter is the best thing for you so if you are down and out go see this movie and you will be rolling out laughing for an hour and a half.

I absolutely loved this movie. I cracked up the entire time. My favorite character was the red head with the beard. I love the scene when he's holding the baby and he's got the sunglasses on. And I love the end when it shows all the pictures from the camera. Great movie!
ReplyDeleteThis movie is quite possibly the greatest movie i have ever seen. I agree it is a stupid premise, but when you actually watch the movie, it is put in a way that you can relate to. We have all been in one of those situations, weather it is losing a friend and you cant find them, or you just cant remember what you did the night before.
ReplyDeleteThis was by far the greatest most crazy-awesome movie i have ever seen!!! I was crying i was laughing so hard. I went to this movie again and lauhed even harder. My favorite part of the movie had to be when Alan made all of his dumb ass remarks LMAO!!! ALL AROUND CLASSIC!!!!

ReplyDeleteOK so Colleen, you scratched the surface in this blog. I'd like to see you make some assumptions as to WHY this movie was funny. Take a look at what the film is saying. Take a look at our reaction to it. What makes movies funny? And why would this humor appeal to such a wide audience? Think about it.
